Northern Cyprus, officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is located in the eastern Mediterranean on the northern part of the island of Cyprus. The island has a rich cultural history shaped by Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Lusignan, Venetian, Ottoman and British civilizations.
